Jan, I think you have the best trip at the most reasonable price that I have seen. I have been telling all my friends and acquaintances that have expressed interest in visiting Cuba about it. Wish I could join you. Just returned from Habana today from an 11-night trip that started in Holguin, Baracoa, Guantanamo City, Santiago and finally Havana.

Vedado is a great area! I found out yesterday from relative that lives there that next to the University of Havana there is a Napoleonic museum from the private collection of Lobos, a sugar magnate who immigrated in 1960 to U.S. It is considered, I was told, the best collection in the Americas.

Hope this info is helpful. I plan to return end of November to attend the Pepe Gallart Jubilee which will be combined this year with the Guantanamera festival Dec. 1-4th.

Thank you for all of yours and Dr. Samuel Davis work to ensure our stay in Cuba was amazing. I really enjoyed the trip. I appreciate you getting us our refunds, and yes I would love a copy of the CD. I look forward to many more trips with you.

Hi Jan, I am sending you a proper thank you via snail mail but can’t tell you how much I enjoyed every part of the trip — it was an adventure, all that makes for memorable travels — and I am so appreciative of all that you do (and did) to put the trip to Cuba together. A challenge for sure! Thank you so much.

Kerry and I stayed at Casa Mercedes and loved it, was so nice to have such an inviting ‘home’ when we got back at the end of a long day. Our
host, Mercedes, was a gem.

I hope you are now fully rested ! Thanks again for a fantastic experience.

I absolutely loved where I stayed and I had an entire apartment to myself. Totally preferred that to renting a bedroom in someone’s home. Accommodations could have been better (hole in couch and dirty, small uncomfortable bed) but for the price and autonomy loved the place.

I didn’t take pics of the bedroom or bath or outside. If I ever go back, I’d definitely rent from Emilio.

I never properly thanked you for making this happen.....really cool trip that I’m so glad I was able to join. I met a really nice group of people from all over the USA. Definitely will look at a return trip at some point in the future.

We liked Yaquelin and her husband/partner, LaDonny (not sure that is how it is spelled, but that’s what it sounded like.) They speak very little English, so we downloaded English and Spanish for Google Translate to my phone, so we could use the program even without the Internet. They were very, very nice, though.

One of the bedrooms was a bit noisy because it faced the street and the stairs to the upstairs unit went right by the front window. This room was fairly small. It had AC and a fan, and a TV which we never turned on.

The other room, which had glass in the windows, had more drawer space, was generally larger, had a refrigerator, and was easier to get into. No TV, and no fan, just the AC.

The front door of the place was something we never could figure out. We needed Yaquelin or LaDonny to get it open. It had some weird lock.

Jan, thanks for everything. Enjoyed the trip and will keep your information for future trips. I would love a copy of the CD and looking foward to listening too.
